These artworks are intended to capture the high-intensity energy and street culture of the skateboarders of The Dixie Cup Slalom Race in North Carolina.  The gestural use of charcoal and aggressive use of mark making express the quick and sudden movements of the race's participants as well as the edge of their persona.
